Resources

In this section you will find useful information for translators and others who work in the field of translation and bilingualism.

Canolfan Bedwyr is located at the Univeristy of Wales Bangor and it is here that the Welsh spellchecker, CySill is developed as well as other on-line language aids, CysGair and Y Termiadur. Visit the Canolfan Bedwyr website for information on current projects. Please refer to English/Welsh Terminology for developments in this field.

A list of Basic Bibliography for Translation Units is provided.

Translators and others who have been compiling vocabularies are welcome to contribute to our lists of terms or names. Lists will be included under Vocabularies. As a starting point we include a vocabulary which Berwyn Prys Jones has compiled over the years.

If you register with welsh-termau-cymraeg you will be able to join the Welsh language daily discussion of terms and access its archive.

We are also working towards compliling a comprehensive database on the location of interpretation systems, which will include detailed information about various equipment and hiring terms.

We have also included Background Bibliography which is a valuable source of information about volumes and articles on translation and bilingualism.
