Interpretation Systems Database

Various institutions and associations already hire out interpretation systems to businesses, institutions and different groups, and sometimes they also provide an interpreter. The Mentrau Iaith and other groups working within the community distinguish, in terms of their hiring conditions and charges, between commercial use (hiring the equipment to fairly large institutions and companies) and community and voluntary use (hiring to voluntary and non-profit making organizations).

This database is intended to facilitate the task of organizing a bilingual meeting. Its aim is to provide information and answer those important questions that arise when arranging such a meeting:

  • Where can I hire the equipment?
  • What will be the cost of hiring equipment and a translator’s services?
  • Are there special terms for voluntary organizations and meetings within the community?
  • What is the role of the Interpreter and the chairperson in a bilingual meeting?
  • What are the various simultaneous translation systems available at present?

We as an Association cannot guarantee the condition and standard of the equipment listed in this database, but the main aim is to provide a rough guide to what is available and where. You will always need to discuss details and conditions with the provider of the equipment and the interpreter.

We would appreciate any additional information, which could be included in the database or amendments to the present information. To do so, please contact us in the office.

Interpretation systems have been listed on a county by county basis.

Choose the area by clicking on the list on the right. The names of organisations in that county who hire out interpretation systems will then appear.
